I love coffee. I mean it. I LOVE COFFEE!! I bow at the alter of Juan Valdez. Whenever someone says they are going on a diet, they usually mean they are going to deprive themselves of things that they love. Now Coffee is a zero calorie beverage, but I like cream in my coffee. I used to add a ton of sugar to my coffee but broke myself of that habit a while back. A friend used to say that I like my coffee like I like my Peanut Butter... Sweet and creamy. Not anymore.
The conversation about "diet" is kind of like talking "politics." The zealots come out of the woodwork to defend their personal views. The vegans think the human animal is supposed to be vegan. The Paleo folks think that meat is a natural food source. I have tried them all. Dairy is typically on most of their "do not eat lists." Did I mention I like cream in my coffee?
I believe the reason most diets fail is because of the mindset of deprivation. The whole time people are dieting they are focused on what they can't eat. Because that is their focus they fall of the wagon and binge on the food of choice. I find when I eat a sugary treat, I will usually binge the next day. I did break the sugar habit mainly because when I eat carbohydrates I feel bloated, my joints hurt, my skin breaks out, and my moods swing wildly. So I stopped buying sugar and sugary stuff. Now when I eat sugary stuff it doesn't taste good to me. Creamy coffee still does. One of my most satisfying times of the day is enjoying my frothy mug of coffee right after waking up. I use my Ninja blender to make that froth. Sometimes I add butter or a touch of salt to my coffee before blending and love it. When it comes to breakfast meals, the coffee is my favorite part.
I have made the decision that some of my calories for the day were going to come from what I add to my coffee. I'm not typically hungry when I first wake up. By bringing my mug of coffee with limited calories for breakfast, I am not hungry again until 2 or 3 in the afternoon. So That is why I am having an Action Hero Coffee for breakfast. Not deprived just depraved.
February 28 2018 I was standing on stage in Florida when I, on a whim, committed to that audience that a year from that date I would be down 100lbs.
