“There has been a level of complacency that has helped the epidemic spread”. ~ Deborah Levine

I talk a lot about the fact that we create our experiences. I also talk about conscious and unconscious creation. The very nature of the Universe is to be in motion. Say that we move forward in our lives, keeping positive and creating a positive outcome.  If we became complacent about our motion, then we would begin unconscious creation mode and begin creating a new experience. This new experience is stagnation.

“It's not a very big step from contentment to complacency.”~ Simone de Beauvoir

The very essence of conscious creation is focusing on goals and holding faith that we would indeed create them into our experience. Complacency is a lack of focus, thereby creating a log jam.  Complacency, being an indifferent state tends to create boredom. Boredom creates a desire for something else. Complacency being a less than joyful and actually a negative state tends to draw negative experiences into your life.

“If I stop, I’ll die” ~Fannie Joseph

My ex-wife’s grandmother was a wonderful lady. When I asked her what was the key to her long life, she would always say,” If I stop, I’ll die.” Though this statement was spoken simply it has great truth behind it. We are here to experience life. When we stop our individual motion in a focused direction then we hinder our progress towards a positive outcome. Her statement basically said by staying in motion she was achieving her personal outcome: another day. Her life was a glorious one. Daily she would set tasks to achieve. The television was never on during the day and her house always had new projects going on. She lived into her mid-nineties and when she decided it was time to stop she did, in fact, pass on. She never became complacent, always sharing her stories of the day’s project.

Forward motion with an eye on a successful horizon creates a successful life. Complacency creates stagnation and a negative outcome. Consciously bring that successful horizon to you by staying ever in motion.

“Self-complacency is fatal to progress.”~ Margaret Elizabeth Sangster
